Lorraine Ellison was an American soul singer born on March 17, 1931, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She is best known for her powerful and emotional vocal performances, which earned her the nickname "The Queen of Blue-eyed Soul." Ellison began her singing career in the 1960s and released her debut album, "Stay with Me," in 1966. The title track from the album became her signature song and a classic in the soul genre.
