He also won three Grammy Awards for his music, including Best R&B Vocal Performance in 1972 for the song "A Natural Man." In addition to his music career, Rawls was known for his charity work, including hosting the annual "Lou Rawls Parade of Stars" telethon to raise money for the United Negro College Fund. He passed away on January 6, 2006, leaving behind a legacy as a talented and influential vocalist in the music industry.
