Loverboy is a Canadian rock band formed in 1979 in Calgary, Alberta. The band achieved widespread success in the 1980s with their blend of hard rock and pop elements. Their self-titled debut album, released in 1980, was a commercial success and featured hits like "Turn Me Loose" and "The Kid is Hot Tonight." Loverboy's second album, "Get Lucky," released in 1981, also achieved commercial success and included the hit single "Working for the Weekend."
Throughout the 1980s, Loverboy continued to release successful albums and singles, including "Lovin' Every Minute of It" in 1985 and "Notorious" in 1987. The band's energetic live performances and catchy, radio-friendly songs helped solidify their popularity during this era. Loverboy has maintained a loyal fan base over the years and continues to tour and perform, with a lineup that includes original members Mike Reno, Paul Dean, Doug Johnson, and Matt Frenette.
