The band's original lineup consisted of vocalist Mike Reno, guitarist Paul Dean, keyboardist Doug Johnson, bassist Scott Smith, and drummer Matt Frenette. They achieved commercial success in the 1980s with hit songs like "Working for the Weekend," "Turn Me Loose," and "Lovin' Every Minute of It."
Loverboy's self-titled debut album was released in 1980 and was a major success, earning four times platinum certification in the United States. The band continued to release albums throughout the 1980s and 1990s, with their most recent studio album, "Unfinished Business," released in 2014. Loverboy is known for their energetic live performances and catchy, radio-friendly rock songs, making them a popular act in both Canada and the United States.
