Loverboy is a Canadian rock band formed in 1979 in Calgary, Alberta. The band's original lineup consisted of vocalist Mike Reno, guitarist Paul Dean, keyboardist Doug Johnson, bassist Scott Smith, and drummer Matt Frenette. Loverboy achieved mainstream success in the 1980s with their hit singles "Turn Me Loose," "Working for the Weekend," and "Lovin' Every Minute of It."
Their self-titled debut album was released in 1980 and went on to achieve quadruple platinum status in Canada and double platinum in the United States. Loverboy's music is known for its catchy hooks, energetic performances, and a blend of rock and pop elements.
