Artist Bio:
Lynyrd Skynyrd is an American rock band formed in Jacksonville, Florida in 1964. The band became popular in the 1970s for their Southern rock sound, characterized by bluesy guitar riffs and gritty vocals. Lynyrd Skynyrd is best known for their hit songs "Sweet Home Alabama," "Free Bird," and "Simple Man."
Tragically, the band was involved in a plane crash in 1977 that resulted in the deaths of several band members, including lead singer Ronnie Van Zant. Despite this setback, Lynyrd Skynyrd continued to perform and release music, with a rotating lineup of musicians. The band was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2006, recognizing their lasting impact on the rock music scene.
