He rose to fame in the 1970s with his own successful music career, known for hits like "Baby, Don't Get Hooked on Me" and "It's Hard to Be Humble." Davis was also a prolific songwriter, penning songs for artists such as Elvis Presley, Kenny Rogers, and Dolly Parton.


In addition to his music career, Mac Davis also found success as an actor, appearing in films such as "North Dallas Forty" and "The Sting II." He also had his own variety show, "The Mac Davis Show," which ran from 1974 to 1976. Davis was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2006. He passed away on September 29, 2020, leaving behind a legacy of music that continues to be celebrated by fans of country and pop music.
