Davis was known for his storytelling lyrics and versatile musical style that blended country, pop, and rock elements.


In addition to his music career, Mac Davis also had success as an actor, appearing in films such as "North Dallas Forty" and "The Sting II." He also had a successful songwriting career, penning hits for artists like Elvis Presley, Kenny Rogers, and Dolly Parton. Mac Davis was inducted into the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2000. He passed away on September 29, 2020, at the age of 78.
