Mac McAnally is an American country music singer, songwriter, and record producer. He was born on July 15, 1957, in Red Bay, Alabama. McAnally has released several solo albums throughout his career, starting with his self-titled debut album in 1977. He is known for his versatile musical talents, playing multiple instruments such as guitar, piano, and banjo. McAnally has also written songs for various country music artists, including Alabama, Kenny Chesney, and Sawyer Brown.
In addition to his solo career, McAnally is a member of Jimmy Buffett's backing band, the Coral Reefer Band. He has won multiple awards for his songwriting and musical contributions, including being named Musician of the Year by the Country Music Association multiple times. McAnally was also inducted into the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2017.
