Artist Bio:
Margaret Whiting was an American popular music and country music singer. She was born on July 22, 1924, in Detroit, Michigan, and passed away on January 10, 2011, in Englewood, New Jersey. Whiting began her singing career at a young age, following in the footsteps of her father, Richard Whiting, who was a prominent composer. She signed her first recording contract with Capitol Records in 1942 and went on to release numerous hit songs throughout the 1940s and 1950s.


Whiting is best known for her smooth and expressive vocal style, which helped her become one of the most popular female singers of her time. Some of her most famous songs include "Moonlight in Vermont," "It Might as Well Be Spring," and "Come Rain or Come Shine." Whiting also collaborated with many other renowned artists, such as Bing Crosby, Frank Sinatra, and Johnny Mercer. Throughout her career, she received several accolades, including a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award in 2008.
