Martha Reeves & The Vandellas were an American vocal group formed in 1957 in Detroit, Michigan. The group was led by Martha Reeves and included Rosalind Ashford and Annette Beard. They were signed to Motown's Gordy label and were one of the label's most successful acts in the 1960s.


The group is best known for hits such as "Dancing in the Street," "Nowhere to Run," and "Heat Wave." They were known for their dynamic performances and tight harmonies, and were a prominent part of the Motown sound. Martha Reeves & The Vandellas were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1995, in recognition of their influence and contribution to the music industry.
