Martha & The Vandellas were an American vocal group formed in 1957 in Detroit, Michigan. The group was led by Martha Reeves and also included Rosalind Ashford and Annette Beard. They were signed to Motown Records and achieved significant success during the 1960s with a string of hit singles. Their music is known for blending elements of soul, R&B, and pop, and they were one of the most successful girl groups of the era.
Some of their most popular songs include "Dancing in the Street," "Heat Wave," and "Nowhere to Run." Martha & The Vandellas were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1995 in recognition of their contributions to the music industry.
