Martha & The Vandellas was an American vocal group formed in 1957 in Detroit. The group was led by Martha Reeves and included Rosalind Ashford and Annette Beard. They were signed to Motown Records and became one of the label's most successful acts in the 1960s.


Martha & The Vandellas are best known for their hits, including "Dancing in the Street," "Heat Wave," and "Nowhere to Run." Their music blended elements of R&B, pop, and soul, and they were known for their energetic performances and tight harmonies. The group was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1995 and their songs continue to be celebrated for their timeless appeal and influence on the Motown sound.
