He was known for his versatility in various music genres, including country, western, pop, and rockabilly. Robbins is best known for his country music hits such as "El Paso," "A White Sport Coat and a Pink Carnation," and "Big Iron." He was also a successful NASCAR driver and competed in the Daytona 500.
Robbins was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 1982 and the Nashville Songwriters Hall of Fame in 1975. He released over 50 albums and had multiple chart-topping singles during his career. Marty Robbins passed away on December 8, 1982, in Nashville, Tennessee, leaving behind a lasting legacy in the music industry.
