Marv Johnson was an American singer and songwriter, born on October 15, 1938, in Detroit, Michigan. He is known as one of the early pioneers of the Motown sound and was one of the first artists signed to the Motown record label in the late 1950s. Johnson's single "Come to Me" was the first record released by Motown in 1959 and became a hit, reaching the top 10 on the Billboard R&B chart.


Throughout his career, Marv Johnson released several singles and albums, including hits like "You Got What It Takes" and "I Love the Way You Love." He is considered a key figure in the development of the Motown sound and had a significant influence on the music industry during the early 1960s. Marv Johnson passed away on May 16, 1993, leaving behind a legacy as a talented artist who helped shape the sound of Motown music.
