Marv Johnson was an American singer and songwriter born on October 15, 1938, in Detroit, Michigan. He is best known for being one of the first artists to record for the Tamla Motown label, which later became known as Motown Records. Johnson's single "Come to Me" was the first record ever released by Tamla in 1959, and it reached number 30 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.


Throughout his career, Marv Johnson released several successful singles, including "You Got What It Takes" and "I Love the Way You Love." He was a pioneer in the early days of Motown and helped establish the label as a powerhouse in the music industry. Johnson's contributions to the development of the Motown sound have left a lasting impact on the music world. He passed away on May 16, 1993, leaving behind a legacy of influential music.
