He is considered one of the greatest and most influential artists in the history of popular music. Some of his most famous hits include "What's Going On," "Sexual Healing," and "I Heard It Through the Grapevine."


Gaye's career was marked by critical acclaim and commercial success, earning him numerous awards and accolades, including multiple Grammy Awards. He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1987. Tragically, Marvin Gaye's life was cut short when he was shot and killed by his father on April 1, 1984, at the age of 44.
