Artist Bio:
Marvin Gaye was an American singer, songwriter, and record producer who was born on April 2, 1939, in Washington, D.C. He is considered one of the greatest and most influential artists in the history of popular music. Gaye's music career spanned over three decades, during which he achieved success in multiple genres including R&B, soul, and funk. He is best known for hits such as "I Heard It Through the Grapevine," "What's Going On," and "Sexual Healing."

Gaye's music often explored themes of love, relationships, social issues, and personal reflection. He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1987 and posthumously received a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award in 1996. Tragically, Gaye's life was cut short when he was shot and killed by his father on April 1, 1984, one day before his 45th birthday.
