The Mary Jane Girls were an American R&B, soul, and funk group formed in the early 1980s. The group was created and produced by Rick James, who also wrote many of their songs. The original lineup consisted of Joanne "Jojo" McDuffie, Candice "Candi" Ghant, Kim "Maxi" Wuletich, and Cheryl Ann "Cheri" Bailey. Their music was known for its catchy hooks, harmonies, and upbeat dance rhythms.
The Mary Jane Girls released three studio albums between 1983 and 1985, featuring hits like "All Night Long" and "In My House." They were popular for their glamorous image and provocative lyrics, which helped them stand out in the competitive music scene of the 1980s. Despite disbanding in the late 1980s, the Mary Jane Girls left a lasting impact on the R&B and funk music genres.
