Artist Bio:
Maxi Priest, born Max Alfred Elliott, is a British reggae vocalist of Jamaican descent. He was born on June 10, 1961, in London, England. Priest rose to fame in the late 1980s with his unique blend of reggae, R&B, and pop music, becoming one of the pioneers of the genre known as reggae fusion.


His breakthrough album, "Bonafide," released in 1990, featured the hit single "Close to You," which reached number one on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. Maxi Priest has since released several successful albums, including "Fe Real," "Man with the Fun," and "CombiNation." Throughout his career, he has collaborated with various artists, such as Shaggy, Shabba Ranks, and Roberta Flack. Maxi Priest continues to tour and perform internationally, captivating audiences with his smooth vocals and infectious reggae rhythms.
