McFadden & Whitehead were an American R&B duo consisting of Gene McFadden and John Whitehead. They were prominent songwriters and producers in the 1970s, working with artists such as The O'Jays and Harold Melvin & the Blue Notes. The duo is best known for their 1979 hit single "Ain't No Stoppin' Us Now," which reached number 1 on the Billboard R&B chart and has since become an anthem of perseverance and empowerment.
Tragically, McFadden & Whitehead's partnership was cut short when John Whitehead was senselessly murdered in 2004 during a robbery outside his Philadelphia home. Despite this tragedy, their music continues to be celebrated and remembered for its soulful sound and positive message.
