The original lineup included Terry Efaw, Steve Reis, Randy Huff, Dick Smith, Bruce Paschal, and Stephen George. McGuffey Lane gained popularity in the 1970s and 1980s, known for their energetic live performances and a sound that blended country, rock, and bluegrass elements.


The band released several albums throughout the years, including their self-titled debut album in 1980, which featured the hit song "Long Time Lovin' You." McGuffey Lane continued to tour and record music, evolving their sound to incorporate more contemporary influences while staying true to their country rock roots.
