Mel Carter is an American singer who was born on April 22, 1943, in Cincinnati, Ohio. He is best known for his hit song "Hold Me, Thrill Me, Kiss Me," which reached number 8 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in 1965. The song also earned him a gold record.
Carter started his music career at a young age, performing in local talent shows and on the radio. He signed with Imperial Records in the early 1960s and released several albums throughout the decade. In addition to "Hold Me, Thrill Me, Kiss Me," Carter had other charting songs such as "When a Boy Falls in Love" and "Band of Gold." He continued to perform and record music into the 1970s and beyond, showcasing his smooth vocals and soulful style.
