Mel Carter is an American singer and actor. He was born on April 22, 1943, in Cincinnati, Ohio. Carter is best known for his hit song "Hold Me, Thrill Me, Kiss Me," which reached number 8 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in 1965. He continued to release music throughout the 1960s and 1970s, with several of his songs charting on the Billboard charts.
In addition to his music career, Mel Carter also appeared in a few films and television shows. Some of his acting credits include appearances in "Hondo," "The Alfred Hitchcock Hour," and "General Hospital." Despite not achieving the same level of commercial success as some of his contemporaries, Mel Carter remains a respected figure in the music industry, particularly for his contributions to the soul and R&B genres.
