Melba Montgomery is an American country music singer. She was born on October 14, 1938, in Iron City, Tennessee. Montgomery began her music career in the 1960s and is best known for her duets with fellow country artist George Jones. The duo released several hit songs together, including "We Must Have Been Out of Our Minds" and "Let's Invite Them Over." Montgomery also had a successful solo career, with hits such as "No Charge" and "Don't Let the Good Times Fool You."


Throughout her career, Melba Montgomery recorded for several record labels, including Capitol Records and United Artists. She was inducted into the Alabama Music Hall of Fame in 2009 in recognition of her contributions to country music. Montgomery's soulful voice and emotional delivery have earned her a lasting place in the history of country music.
