Memphis Bleek, born Malik Cox, is an American rapper and longtime friend and protégé of Jay-Z. He was born on June 23, 1978, in Brooklyn, New York. Bleek was signed to Jay-Z's label, Roc-A-Fella Records, in the late 1990s and released his debut album, "Coming of Age," in 1999. He is best known for his collaborations with Jay-Z, including the hit singles "Is That Your Chick (The Lost Verses)" and "It's Alright."

Jay-Z, born Shawn Corey Carter, is a highly successful rapper, songwriter, and entrepreneur, widely considered one of the greatest rappers of all time. He founded Roc-A-Fella Records in 1995 and signed Memphis Bleek as one of the label's first artists. Jay-Z and Bleek have collaborated on numerous tracks over the years and have maintained a close friendship and working relationship.
