Artist Bio:
Metallica is an American heavy metal band formed in 1981 in Los Angeles, California. The band's original lineup consisted of vocalist/guitarist James Hetfield, drummer Lars Ulrich, guitarist Dave Mustaine, and bassist Ron McGovney. Mustaine was later replaced by Kirk Hammett. Metallica is considered one of the "big four" bands of thrash metal, alongside Megadeth, Slayer, and Anthrax.

Metallica's self-titled fifth studio album, commonly known as "The Black Album," released in 1991, marked a shift towards a more mainstream sound and catapulted the band to commercial success. The band has won nine Grammy Awards and has sold over 125 million records worldwide, making them one of the best-selling music artists of all time. Metallica is known for their energetic live performances and hits such as "Enter Sandman," "Master of Puppets," and "Nothing Else Matters."
