Artist Bio:
Michael Nesmith & The First National Band was a country rock band formed in 1970 by American musician Michael Nesmith, best known as a member of the 1960s pop group The Monkees. The band's lineup consisted of Nesmith on vocals and guitar, along with John Ware on drums, John London on bass, and Red Rhodes on pedal steel guitar.
The group released three albums during their brief time together: "Magnetic South" (1970), "Loose Salute" (1970), and "Nevada Fighter" (1971). Nesmith's vision for the band was to create a sound that blended country, rock, and folk influences, with lyrics that often reflected his personal experiences and philosophies. Despite achieving critical acclaim, the band was not commercially successful, and Nesmith eventually disbanded the group in 1971 to pursue other musical projects.
