The Michael Stanley Band was an American rock band formed in Cleveland, Ohio in 1974. The band was fronted by singer-songwriter and guitarist Michael Stanley, who was a prominent figure in the Cleveland music scene. The band gained popularity in the late 1970s and early 1980s with hits such as "He Can't Love You" and "My Town."
Michael Stanley Band released a total of ten studio albums between 1975 and 1986, with some of their most successful albums including "You Break It... You Bought It!" and "Heartland." The band was known for their roots rock sound and heartfelt lyrics, which resonated with their loyal fan base. Despite never achieving mainstream success on a national level, the Michael Stanley Band maintained a strong following in the Midwest and continued to perform live shows until Michael Stanley's passing in 2021.
