Mickey Gilley is an American country music singer and musician born on March 9, 1936, in Natchez, Mississippi. He is best known for his hit songs in the 1970s and 1980s, including "Room Full of Roses" and "Don't the Girls All Get Prettier at Closing Time." Gilley also achieved success with his cover of the song "Stand by Me," which reached the top of the country charts.
In addition to his music career, Gilley is also known for owning the popular honky-tonk bar Gilley's Club in Pasadena, Texas, which was a key location in the 1980 film "Urban Cowboy." He was inducted into the Texas Country Music Hall of Fame in 2005 and continues to perform and tour, showcasing his timeless country music to audiences around the world.
