Mickey Gilley is an American country music singer and songwriter. He was born on March 9, 1936, in Natchez, Mississippi. Gilley gained fame in the 1970s and 1980s with a string of hits, including his signature song "Room Full of Roses." He is also known for his successful country music nightclub in Pasadena, Texas, called Gilley's, which was prominently featured in the 1980 film "Urban Cowboy."
In addition to his music career, Gilley has received numerous awards and honors, including induction into the Texas Country Music Hall of Fame and a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. He continues to perform and tour, delighting audiences with his traditional country sound and energetic stage presence.
