Micky Dolenz is an American actor, musician, and television director best known for being the lead vocalist and drummer of the 1960s band The Monkees. Born on March 8, 1945, in Los Angeles, California, Dolenz rose to fame as a member of The Monkees, a pop-rock band created for a television show of the same name. The band released a number of hit songs, including "I'm a Believer" and "Last Train to Clarksville."
After The Monkees disbanded in the 1970s, Dolenz continued to work in the entertainment industry, appearing in various television shows and musicals. He also released solo albums and toured as a solo artist. In addition to his music career, Dolenz has worked as a television director, directing episodes of shows such as "Metal Mickey" and "The New WKRP in Cincinnati."
