Artist Bio:
Midge Ure is a Scottish musician, singer-songwriter, and producer who was born on October 10, 1953. He is best known for his work as the lead vocalist and guitarist for the bands Ultravox and Visage. Ure gained international fame in the 1980s with Ultravox, known for hits such as "Vienna" and "Dancing with Tears in My Eyes". He also co-wrote and produced the charity single "Do They Know It's Christmas?" with Bob Geldof in 1984, which became one of the bestselling singles of all time.
In addition to his work with Ultravox and Visage, Midge Ure has released several solo albums and continues to tour and perform live. He has received numerous awards for his contributions to music, including an Ivor Novello Award for Outstanding Contribution to British Music in 2005. Ure is recognized for his distinctive voice, innovative songwriting, and influential role in the new wave and synth-pop music scenes.
