Missing Persons is an American band formed in 1980 in Los Angeles. The band was founded by former Frank Zappa vocalist Dale Bozzio and her husband, musician and songwriter Terry Bozzio. They were known for their new wave and synth-pop sound, as well as Dale Bozzio's distinctive vocals and unique fashion sense. Missing Persons gained popularity in the early 1980s with hits like "Words" and "Walking in L.A."
The band released three studio albums between 1982 and 1986, with their debut album "Spring Session M" reaching Gold status in the United States. Missing Persons disbanded in 1986 but reunited in the late 2000s for occasional live performances. Despite their relatively short time in the spotlight, Missing Persons made a lasting impact on the new wave music scene and are still remembered for their energetic performances and catchy songs.
