Artist Bio:
Missing Persons is an American new wave band formed in Los Angeles in 1980. The band was fronted by lead vocalist Dale Bozzio and founded by former Frank Zappa musicians Terry Bozzio and Warren Cuccurullo. Missing Persons gained popularity in the early 1980s with their unique sound that blended elements of new wave, pop, and rock music. Their hit songs include "Words," "Walking in L.A.," and "Destination Unknown."
Dale Bozzio's distinctive vocals and the band's futuristic image, characterized by colorful hairstyles and fashion, contributed to their success. Missing Persons released three studio albums before disbanding in 1986, only to reunite in 2001 and continue performing sporadically. Despite various lineup changes over the years, the band's legacy as a pioneering act in the new wave music scene remains influential to this day.
