Mobb Deep was an American hip hop duo formed by Prodigy (Albert Johnson) and Havoc (Kejuan Muchita) in 1992 in Queens, New York. Known for their hardcore and gritty style, Mobb Deep gained recognition for their vivid storytelling and raw lyrics depicting the realities of street life. They were part of the East Coast hip hop scene and were influential in shaping the sound of 1990s hip hop.

The duo released several critically acclaimed albums, including "The Infamous" (1995) and "Hell on Earth" (1996), which are considered classic albums in the genre. Mobb Deep's most famous song, "Shook Ones Part II," is often cited as one of the greatest hip hop songs of all time. The duo continued to make music together until Prodigy's death in 2017.
