She gained prominence with her debut album "Down to Earth" in 1990, which featured the hit single "It's a Shame (My Sister)" and earned her a Grammy nomination for Best Female Rap Solo Performance. "True Image" was a female R&B trio that collaborated with Monie Love on the single "It's a Shame (My Sister)."
