Born on March 17, 1919, in Montgomery, Alabama, Cole is known for his smooth and velvety voice, which made him one of the most popular and influential jazz musicians of his time. He began his music career by playing in jazz clubs before signing with Capitol Records in the 1940s.
Cole's most famous songs include "Unforgettable," "Mona Lisa," and "The Christmas Song." He was the first African American to host a television variety show, "The Nat King Cole Show," which aired in the 1950s. Despite facing racial discrimination during his career, Cole broke down barriers and paved the way for other black musicians. He passed away on February 15, 1965, leaving behind a lasting legacy in the world of jazz and popular music.
