He was the first African American to host a television variety show, "The Nat King Cole Show," which aired in the late 1950s. Cole was also a talented pianist and often accompanied himself on the piano during his performances. He received numerous awards and accolades for his contributions to music, including multiple Grammy Awards. Nat King Cole passed away on February 15, 1965, leaving behind a lasting legacy as a pioneering African American artist in the music industry.
