Nathaniel Adams Coles, known professionally as Nat King Cole, was an American singer and jazz pianist. He was born on March 17, 1919, in Montgomery, Alabama, and passed away on February 15, 1965, in Santa Monica, California. Cole rose to fame in the mid-20th century with hits such as "Unforgettable," "Mona Lisa," and "The Christmas Song."
Beyond his music career, Nat King Cole was also a pioneer for African American entertainers. He was the first African American to host a television variety show, "The Nat King Cole Show," which debuted in 1956. Despite facing racial discrimination, Cole continued to break barriers and pave the way for future generations of black artists. Nat King Cole's smooth voice and elegant piano playing remain iconic in the world of jazz and popular music.
