The Natural Four was an American soul and R&B group formed in Oakland, California in the late 1960s. The group consisted of members Chris James, Allan Williams, Steve Striplin, and John January. They were signed to the Curtis Mayfield's label, Curtom Records, in the early 1970s and released several albums including "The Natural Four" (1974) and "Heaven Right Here on Earth" (1975).
The Natural Four is best known for their hit singles "Can This Be Real" and "Try Love Again," which both reached the top 10 on the Billboard R&B charts. They were known for their smooth harmonies and soulful sound, and were considered one of the prominent groups in the Bay Area soul scene during the 1970s. Despite their success, the Natural Four disbanded in the late 1970s, but their music continues to be celebrated by soul music fans and collectors.
