Ned Miller was an American country music singer and songwriter born on April 12, 1925, in Rains, Utah. He is best known for his 1962 hit song "From a Jack to a King," which reached number six on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and became a crossover success. The song also earned Miller a Grammy nomination for Best Country & Western Recording.


Aside from his music career, Ned Miller also wrote songs for other artists, including Bonnie Guitar and Ricky Van Shelton. He released several albums throughout the 1960s and 1970s, but "From a Jack to a King" remains his most well-known and enduring hit. Ned Miller passed away on March 18, 2016, at the age of 90, leaving behind a legacy in country music with his distinctive voice and memorable hit song.
