Neil Diamond is an American singer-songwriter known for his distinctive voice and hits such as "Sweet Caroline," "Cracklin' Rosie," and "Love on the Rocks." He was born on January 24, 1941, in Brooklyn, New York. Diamond began his career in the 1960s writing songs for other artists before achieving success as a solo performer in the 1970s.


Throughout his career, Neil Diamond has sold over 100 million records worldwide, making him one of the best-selling musicians of all time. He has received numerous awards, including a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award in 2018. Diamond was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 1984 and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2011. Despite retiring from touring in 2018 due to a Parkinson's disease diagnosis, Neil Diamond continues to write and record music.
