Neil Diamond is an American singer-songwriter who was born on January 24, 1941, in Brooklyn, New York. He is known for his pop and rock music, and is considered one of the best-selling music artists of all time, with over 100 million records sold worldwide. Diamond began his career in the 1960s and gained fame with hits like "Sweet Caroline," "Cracklin' Rosie," and "Song Sung Blue."


In addition to his successful music career, Diamond has also dabbled in acting, appearing in films such as "The Jazz Singer" and "Saving Silverman." He has won numerous awards throughout his career, including a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award in 2018. Diamond announced his retirement from touring in 2018 after being diagnosed with Parkinson's disease, but he continues to write and record music.
