Neil Diamond, born on January 24, 1941, is an American singer-songwriter known for his powerful and emotive voice. He has sold over 100 million records worldwide, making him one of the best-selling musicians of all time. Diamond began his career in the 1960s and rose to fame in the 1970s with hits like "Sweet Caroline," "Cracklin' Rosie," and "Song Sung Blue." He has received numerous awards throughout his career, including a Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award in 2018.


In addition to his success as a solo artist, Diamond has also written songs for other artists, such as The Monkees and UB40. He was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 1984 and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2011.
