Neil Young is a Canadian singer-songwriter and musician born on November 12, 1945, in Toronto, Ontario. He began his music career in the 1960s and is known for his distinctive voice and his influential contributions to the folk rock and country rock genres. Young has released numerous successful albums both as a solo artist and as a member of the bands Buffalo Springfield and Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young.
Throughout his career, Neil Young has been recognized for his socially and politically conscious lyrics, as well as his unique guitar playing style. Some of his most popular songs include "Heart of Gold," "Old Man," and "Rockin' in the Free World."
