The band's original lineup consisted of Roye Albrighton on guitar and vocals, Allan "Taff" Freeman on keyboards, Derek "Mo" Moore on bass, Ron Howden on drums, and Mick Brockett on lights and special effects. Nektar gained popularity in the 1970s for their innovative blend of psychedelic rock and progressive rock, often incorporating elements of space rock into their music.
Nektar released several albums throughout the 1970s, including "Journey to the Centre of the Eye" (1971), "A Tab in the Ocean" (1972), and "Remember the Future" (1973). The band's music is characterized by its complex compositions, extended instrumental passages, and philosophical lyrics.
