New Edition is an American R&B group formed in Boston in 1978. The group's original lineup consisted of Bobby Brown, Michael Bivins, Ricky Bell, Ralph Tresvant, and Ronnie DeVoe. They achieved mainstream success in the 1980s with hits such as "Candy Girl," "Cool It Now," and "Mr. Telephone Man." New Edition was known for their smooth harmonies, catchy hooks, and synchronized dance moves, which helped them become one of the defining boy bands of the era.

Despite various lineup changes and solo projects by its members, New Edition continued to release music and tour over the years.
