New Edition is an American R&B group formed in Boston in 1978. The group's original lineup consisted of Bobby Brown, Michael Bivins, Ricky Bell, Ralph Tresvant, and Ronnie DeVoe. They achieved mainstream success in the 1980s with hits such as "Candy Girl," "Cool It Now," and "Mr. Telephone Man."
