New Edition is an American R&B group formed in Boston, Massachusetts in 1978. The group consists of members Bobby Brown, Michael Bivins, Ricky Bell, Ronnie DeVoe, Ralph Tresvant, and Johnny Gill. They are known for their distinctive harmonies, choreographed dance moves, and hits such as "Candy Girl," "Cool It Now," and "If It Isn't Love."
New Edition achieved great success during the 1980s and 1990s, becoming one of the pioneers of the boy band movement. They have released several albums, including their self-titled debut album in 1984, which was certified double platinum. In addition to their music career, the members of New Edition have also pursued solo projects and acting roles.
