Artist Bio:
New Edition is an American R&B group formed in Boston in 1978. The original members of the group were Bobby Brown, Michael Bivins, Ricky Bell, Ralph Tresvant, and Ronnie DeVoe. They were discovered by producer Maurice Starr, who helped them secure a recording contract with Streetwise Records. Their self-titled debut album was released in 1984 and spawned the hits "Candy Girl" and "Cool It Now."


The group achieved great success in the 1980s and early 1990s, with their blend of R&B, pop, and hip-hop influences. They are known for hits such as "Mr. Telephone Man," "If It Isn't Love," and "Can You Stand the Rain." New Edition has had a significant impact on the music industry and has influenced many contemporary R&B and hip-hop artists. They have also been recognized with several awards, including an American Music Award and a Soul Train Music Award.
